Prior to founding Avocado, Mr. Beights was the owner and operator of Beights Corporation, a real estate management and consulting firm specializing in multi-million dollar commercial and residential projects. In addition, he served as an acquisitions consultant for Landeavor, LLC, which specializes in building a portfolio of large master planned communities in select markets throughout the United States. Mr. Beights has negotiated major infrastructure contracts and rezoning efforts; has successfully developed multiple residential communities; and has effectively managed diverse constituencies to complete all of his projects on time and on budget. Mr. Beights also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Virginia School of Architecture and Darden School of Business, teaching graduate-level real estate development.
He received a BA in History from the University of Virginia and lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his wife and four children.
Mr. Butler co-founded Butler Capital Investments, a global capital placement firm focused on alternative investments in 2001 providing him with more than 25 years of experience in alternative investments. Mr. Butler directed the business development, product sourcing, and due diligence efforts. During his tenure (2001-2015), Butler Capital raised over $5 billion. Mr. Butler helped to build a global network of more than 1,200 investors, including family offices, endowments, foundations, pension funds, insurance companies, fund of funds, and private banks. Mr. Butler has evaluated over 1,000 different alternative investment opportunities. Prior to his reign at Butler Capital, he was a Managing Director at CIBC World Markets where he ran the interest rate and foreign exchange proprietary derivatives department. In addition, Mr. Butler held a similar position at Citibank.
He received a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. He is a registered rep with Roka Capital, LLC and holds the series 7, 63, and 3 licenses. He lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his wife and three children. Mr. Butler has over 25 years experience in investing across many different platforms.
Mr. Corbett began with a distinguished 25-year career on Wall Street, providing investment advice to wealthy individuals, family offices, and institutions. During his Wall Street career, Mr. Corbett spent 13 years at Morgan Stanley and, as a pioneer in Global Asset Management, specialized in providing institutional advice to a select group of global clients. After which, Mr. Corbett worked with Stateside Energy Group, an environmentally sensitive oil drilling company. He also spent time as Senior Vice President and Director at Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette as well as its successor firm Credit Suisse First Boston and was a managing director of investments for Dominick and Dominick LLC, Wall Street’s oldest privately owned firm.
Mr. Corbett received his BA in International Relations and Political Science from The American University School of International Sciences in Washington DC. He lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his wife and three teenage children.
